Hugo Broos names Bafana Bafana prelim squad for AFCON qualifiers
Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named a preliminary squad for the AFCON qualifiers, set to take place in September.
South Africa will kick off their qualifying campaign against Uganda at Orlando Stadium on September 6th, before facing South Sudan away at Juba Stadium four days later.
Having secured third place at the most recent AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast earlier this year, Bafana will be aiming to secure a spot in the next tournament as early as possible.
They were last in action just one month ago when they played a draw against Nigeria and defeated Zimbabwe in the World Cup qualifiers.
In an effort to improve his team, Hugo Broos has added some new faces such as Simon Van Duivenbooden [Vitesse FC], Athenkosi Mcaba [Stellenbosch FC], Rushwin Dortley [Kaizer Chiefs] and Thalente Mbatha [Orlando Pirates].
