Marumo Gallants finalising move for ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger

Marumo Gallants are finalising a transfer move for ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger Kamohelo Mahlatsi ahead of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

Mahlatsi has been on trials at Gallants following his departure from Chippa United at the end of last season. The attacking midfielder spent six months with the Chilli Boys after joining the club in January 2024.

In his short stint with Chippa, Mahlatsi featured in 11 matches across all competitions without contributing any goal.

Before signing with the Gqeberha-based side, the 25-year-old was in the colours of Amakhosi where he also struggled for game-time. Mahlatsi played seven games in all competitions at Chiefs during the 2022/23 campaign.

Having played less competitive matches in the past two seasons, Mahlatsi is on the verge of putting pen to paper with Gallants.

FARPost understands that the former SA’s junior international has impressed the club’s technical team led by Dan Malesela.

MIKE MAKAAB PROVIDES LATEST ON KAMOHELO MAHLATSI

His agent, Mike Makaab, says they are close to finalising a move with Marumo Gallants for the upcoming season.

“Kamohelo Mahlatsi is at Marumo Gallants. He has not signed with the team, but we are very close to finalising the deal. We are optimistic that the deal will be sealed in the next coming days.” Makaab said.

Meanwhile, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa made a return to the SA’s top-flight after purchasing Moroka Swallows’ status a few weeks ago.

Gallants are returning to the Premiership after failing to gain automatic promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

In the previous campaign in the NFD, the Limpopo-based side finished ninth on the log standings. They won nine league matches, drew nine and suffered 12 defeats to collect 36 points. Gallants spent just one season in the second-tier after being relegated at the end of the 2022/23 season.
