Ex-Swallows striker confirmed as Leruma United coach
Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leruma United have confirmed former Moroka Swallows striker Mpho Maleka as their head coach for the new season.
The club assumed the National First Division status previously held by Marumo Gallants, who ascended to the Betway Premiership after acquiring the status of Moroka Swallows.
Leruma United are set to open their 2024/25 campaign with a home clash against Pretoria Callies at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, 24 August 2024. FARPost has since established the technical team of Leruma United is led by Maleka.

Maleka will be supported by Vuyisani Nkomo while Lucky Mokgotho is the Team Manager and Kizito Obi will be in the technical support role. Maleka was at Marumo Gallants before the sudden change in the coaching personnel which saw the departure of Dylan Kerr.
PLAYERS SIGNED BY LERUMA UNITED AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON
The club has also announced the list of their players for the season with a few familiar faces.
Goalkeepers Senzo Sithole and Seleke Mahlomola have joined from Platinum City Rovers and AmaTuks, respectively. Gabonese keeper Steven Tsoumbou has also joined the club.
Some of the defenders signed include Kgadi Badimo, Sbonelo Mahlangu, Christopher Mahlangu, Mahlatsi Mankgane, Musa Mbatha, Oscar Gqeke, Thami Majezi, Koketso Mashiane and Franky Ejiofor.
The midfielders brought in include Sihle Ndlovu, Kgalema Nkadimeng, Etien Piterse, Thato Moeti and Ade Adeleke.
Tshepo Skosana from Marumi Gallants leads the forwards’ list. It also includes players such as Prosper Shozi, Emeka Eke, Pogiso Mabote, Sanele Khumalo. Yannick Angoume, Lungile Mokoena, Anayo Maswime and Zondani Chindlovu.
Their second match of the season will be away at Black Leopards in Thohoyandou. They will then host Upington City FC at home in their third game before another trip to Thohoyandou against Venda FC. Their fifth match will be against neighbours JDR Stars.
