FC Copenhagen sign SA youth international
FC Copenhagen have confirmed the signing of SA youth international Waylon Renecke from Norwich City FC in England.
The former Amajimbos’ talented defender, Renecke, joins the Danish side on a three-year deal.
The 18-year-old joined Norwich at the U14s level and worked his way up to turn out for the club’s U18s and the U21s sides.
Last season, he managed to make Norwich’s first team matchday squad where was on the bench in their away match against Stoke City.
Renecke was part of the Amajimbos squad that represented South Africa at the CAF U17 AFCON tournament in 2023.
Norwich wished Renecke the very best for the future as he is about to start with his new chapter at Copenhagen, where he will be hoping to play first-team football in the near future.
However, for now, the SA-born defender will be part of Copenhagen’s U19 squad.
