The areas Nabi feels he needs to strengthen at Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has highlighted the areas he needs to strengthen at the club before the transfer window period closes.
So far, ‘Amakhosi’ have made seven signings in the current transfer window as they look to challenge for major titles and end their nine-year trophy drought.
‘The Glamour Boys’ have brought in goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, defenders Rushwin Dortley, Inácio Miguel, Bradley Cross, and Bongani Sam, as well as midfielders Gaston Sirino and Njabulo Blom.
With the Betway Premiership set to commence on the 14th of September, Nabi revealed that the club is still looking to recruit more players.
THE TWO AREAS NASREDDINE NABI WANTS TO FILL
The Tunisian coach Chiefs are looking for a striker and a winger. He was speaking during the Betway Premiership launch on Tuesday afternoon in Sandton.
“Our squad has a lot of quality players. But I don’t think this is going to be the final squad. We are working on getting new players,” said Nabi.
“A big club like Kaizer Chiefs needs a high level of quality in all lines; in defence, middle and attack. You know it’s more easy to look for a defender than a striker.
“If you need top players, you need to take your time. We continue with my staff and the committee to look for players.”
The former Yanga and AS FAR Rabat coach continued: “So, you would need time to work hard to profile players. We work together to profile players in defence as I don’t have this opportunity for attack.
“We will continue with my staff committee to look. I need the strikers, and maybe if we have the wingers.”
Chiefs will play their first league game against Marumo Gallants away from home on Saturday, 14 September. The game will start at 17:30.
