Kaizer Chiefs receive injury boost as trio returns to fitness

Kaizer Chiefs have received a welcome boost ahead of the new Betway Premiership season with the return of three players who missed the pre-season due to injury.

Dillan Solomons, Tebogo Potsane and Bongani Sam are all back in training and have recently featured in friendly matches.

Solomons underwent shoulder surgery after sustaining an injury and missed the club’s trip to Turkey. However, he has now recovered and is back to full fitness.

Potsane also missed the pre-season tour due to groin surgery but has made a swift recovery and is already showing promising signs in training and friendly games. The former Orlando Pirates player, Sam had to return early from Turkey due to an injury but has also shaken it off and is back in contention for a place in the team.

The return of these three players will provide a significant boost to coach Nasreddine Nabi’s options as he prepares his squad for the challenges ahead. Solomons, Potsane and Sam are all experienced players who can make a valuable contribution to the team.

MATLOU AND MDANTSANE CONTINUE RECOVERY

Meanwhile, George Matlou and Mduduzi Mdantsane continue their rehabilitation from their respective injuries. Matlou is currently in the gym and doing light running following knee surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery in October.

Mdantsane underwent surgery for a broken jaw sustained in a recent car accident and is expected back in November.

Both Matlou and Mdantsane were not part of the team that traveled to Turkey for preseason. However, they are both working hard to regain their fitness and will be hoping to return to action as soon as possible.

The return of Solomons, Potsane and Sam is a positive development for Amakhosi. It provides the team with a much-needed boost ahead of the new season and will give coach Nabi more options to choose from.

The club will also be hoping that Matlou and Mdantsane can make a speedy recovery and return to action soon.
