Morgan Mammila resigns as Baroka coach

Baroka FC coach Morgan Mammila has resigned from his position at the club with immediate effect, FARPost has learnt. Mammila has been in charge at the club since the PSL promotion play-offs.
He was also tasked with taking the club back to the Betway Premiership. But the poor start saw the former Chippa United under fire which led to a subsequent fallout with the club management.
This publication has learnt that Mammila tendered his resignation to the club on Friday afternoon.

The club also issued a statement on Friday confirming Mammila’s departure. He was in charge in two matches, losing one and drawing the other.

“Baroka Football Club would like to announce that head coach Morgan Mmamila has resigned from his position with immediate effect as of 06th September 2024,” the club said.

“Coach Mmamila has been with the club during the PSL promotion play-offs and he was in charge of the first two games of our 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season. We wish coach Mammila all the best in his future endeavours.”

MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP COACH BITE THE DUST

Speaking to FARPost last week, Baroka boss Khurishi Mphahlele had given Mammila and his technical team until Friday to submit a report on their recent performances.
“We have asked for match reports from the two games because they were not good at all,” he told this publication.
“So I have given them until Friday so they can submit that match report. That match report will tell me if we have people who can take us somewhere or not.”
“I did tell the coach that I was not happy with how we were playing. But I can only apologise to the supporters because our aim is to take this team to the next level,” he added.
The club has not indicated who will be taking charge until Mammila’s replacement is found. They are set to take on Hungry Lions in their next league match on Saturday, 14 September.
