Dylan Kerr on next possible coaching challenge
A month after his surprise exit from Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants, coach Dylan Kerr has revealed what will attract him to a new project in the PSL.
Kerr returned to Gallants for a third stint in July. But barely a month into the job, Kerr and Gallants surprisingly parted ways.
The former Moroka Swallows mentor is still in South Africa, awaiting a new challenge. He has told this publication that there have been suggestions about possible opportunities in Tanzania and Eswatini.
“Well, right now, I am in a happy place, mentally and physically. I am so happy to be back in South Africa,” Kerr told FARPost.
“The good thing about being in South Africa is that I can enjoy friendships and meeting new people.”
WHAT COACH DYLAN KERR IS LOOKING FOR IN HIS FUTURE JOB
“Obviously, I miss football. But I want to ensure that whatever opportunity becomes available is right,” he explained.
“People have asked me to go to Azam in Tanzania; I said no. People have asked me to apply for the national team job in Eswatini; I said no. I just feel like the right job is going to come along, and when it does, it’s going to be right for me.
“Right now, I am in a good place because not only have I been away from football, but I am also re-educating myself with a lot of courses in England online and talking to people about football. So, who knows what’s going to be around the corner? You never know. I am not actively looking.”
WHY FORMER MARUMO GALLANTS MENTOR IS NOT ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB
“If you keep looking for things, they don’t happen. You need to wait and be patient,” said Kerr.
“You don’t have to mentally torture yourself trying to get a job. Things will happen, so that’s why I came to Durban, where I have lots of family and friends, which I have never really done for the past 12 months when I was in the UK.”
