Sinky Mnisi makes bold vow upon return to Royal AM

Newly-appointed Royal AM COO Sinky Mnisi has made a bold vow upon his return to the club, which is currently facing challenges due to a transfer ban.

Since July 2023, Thwihli Thwahla have been unable to register new players, as a result of a ban imposed by FIFA due to their failure to settle a debt owed to former striker Samir Nurkovic.

In the previous season, they concluded their campaign in 13th place, finishing ten points clear of the relegated Cape Town Spurs, who ended in the 16th position.

Upon his recent return to the KwaZulu-Natal club, Mnisi has pledged to assist in steering the team towards a top-eight finish this season.

“I’m not going to say much but one thing I can say I’m here, I’m back and we are going to the top eight,” said Mnisi.

“That’s what I want to say now, period. I’ll have a proper press conference where I will inform everyone what are the plans for this team.

“There are good players here, that’s all, good players.”

Meanwhile, Royal AM head coach John Maduka expressed his delight about the return of the “veteran” administrator, noting that he will provide significant help to the club.

“It’s good to have a veteran that’s Mnisi, back to the team. He’s been in the game for a long, long time so to have him back in the team is a bonus for us,” said Maduka.

“We are very happy to have him in the team and we know that he’s a very professional man. There are so many things that he will help the team with going forward.

“So, we are very happy to have him back.”

Royal AM began the season with a 1-1 draw at home against Cape Town City on Saturday afternoon at Harry Gwala Stadium.
