Mngqithi’s assessment of Sipho Mbule amid loan talks

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has shared his thoughts on Sipho Mbule’s progress at the club amid talks of a potential loan move to Sekhukhune United.

Mngqithi issued the update on Mbule after Sundowns defeated SuperSport United 2-0 at Loftus Stadium to claim the Tshwane Derby bragging rights and maximum points in the league.

The highly-rated midfielder has struggled to break into the Downs match-day squad in recent games after battling with injuries, amongst other things.

In the previous Betway Premiership season, Mbule made 22 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal for The Brazilians.

Mbule faced stiff competition in the Sundowns’ central midfielder from players such as Teboho Mokoena, Bathusi Aubaas, Lebogang Maboe, Rivaldo Coetzee, Marcello Allende, and Sphelele Mkhulise.

In a bid to get more game-time, Mbule is set to complete a season-long loan move to Sekhukhune United. The ‘MasterChef’ is expected to reunite with Kaitano Tembo at Sekhukhune after the duo worked together at SuperSport United.

Meanwhile, Mbule’s agent, Mike Makaab, recently told FARPost that they are seriously looking to get a loan move for his client before the transfer window slams shut.

WHAT DID MANQOBA MNGQITHI SAY ABOUT SIPHO MBULE?

Mngqithi says Mbule is a good player with top qualities, but there are elements of his game that need to improve.

“Going to Sipho Mbule, I think he’s been training very well, but he still has issues because he’s coming from an injury,” Mngqithi said.

“Mbule is already in full training; he’s a very good player with qualities that are second to none. However, there are some areas of his football that must improve, but he’s a very good player, and we are happy to have him around.

In the current transfer window, Sundowns have already sent Etiosa Ighodaro, Luvuyo Phewa, Siyanda Msani, Ismail Watenga, Matias Esquivel, and Thabang Sibanyon on loan.
