Lesiba Nku on facing his former mentors, gives injury update

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lesiba Nku has spoken out on facing his former mentors when Masandawana take on Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership tie on Tuesday.

The Brazilians will welcome Bahlabane ba Ntwa at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, with the kickoff set for 17:30.

Sundowns come into this encounter having won their opening match of the season, whereas Gallants have lost their two games into the new campaign.

This showdown is expected to be a mouthwatering game as the Chloorkop-based outfit, who are the defending champions would like to extend their winning streak, while Gallants would like to end their disappointing start in the top-flight.

LESIBA NKU ON DAN MALESELA AND DUNCAN LECHESA

Nku, who played under Malesela and Lechesa at Gallants and Polokwane City FC, respectively, insists that it’s going to be a difficult game as both teams play a similar style of keeping the ball.

He went on to state that there’s not much of a difference between coach Malesela and Lechesa, who joined the club as assistant coach last week.

“You know he likes to play Tiki Taka football. He likes to keep the football too much, which is what we do at Sundowns. So, it is going to be a competitive game, and we are ready for the game,” Nku told Masandawana’s media department.

“No [there is not much difference], both of them coached me. Coach Duncan coached me at Polokwane City and Coach Dan at Marumo. So, I think it is going to be a good game, and we will manage because we are ready for the game.”

Nku added: “I think I have watched all the games that they played so far. They are playing very well, and they are just not lucky to win their games. But I think we must not undermine them because they lost two games. We must go with our plan and are going to be vicarious.”
