Njabulo Blom set to boost Kaizer Chiefs midfield

Kaizer Chiefs fans may finally get to see Njabulo Blom in action this Wednesday as they face AmaZulu FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder, who recently returned to Chiefs on loan from St. Louis City SC, has travelled with the team and is available for selection.

Blom’s recent absence against Marumo Gallants was due to his need for more match fitness. The Chiefs youth product had limited playing time in the MLS, where he found it challenging to secure a starting spot after the coaching staff changed.

However, he has been working hard to regain his fitness and is now ready to contribute to the Chiefs’ cause.

Chiefs’ head coach Nasreddine Nabi told SABC Sport after the Gallants game that the 24-year-old was not yet ready for competitive action.

“Not all the players are ready, especially the new ones like Blom,” Nabi said. “So, he needs a little more preparation, but I’m very happy for the signing of Blom. Thank you very much to the committee [management].

“He is a big player, but I need to protect him because he is not really at 100%. But I’m looking forward to seeing Blom starting for the team.”

NJABULO BLOM’S AVAILABILITY PROVIDES NABI WITH ANOTHER OPTION

Nabi would be eager to utilise Blom’s experience and versatility in midfield. In the previous match, Nabi opted for Samkelo Zwane and Yusuph Maart at the base of midfield, with Mduduzi Shabalala operating in a more advanced role.

Blom’s return provides Nabi with another option and the potential to reshape the midfield dynamic.

The match against AmaZulu promises to be an exciting encounter, and Blom’s potential inclusion adds another layer of intrigue.

Fans are eagerly anticipating his first appearance back in the black and gold jersey and hoping he can provide the spark the team needs to secure a crucial victory.
