Motshwari – What AmaZulu are hoping to leverage against Chiefs

AmaZulu FC midfielder Ben Motshwari has revealed what they are hoping to leverage against Kaizer Chiefs when the two sides meet on Wednesday.

Usuthu will host Amakhosi at the Moses Mabhida Stadium for their second Betway Premiership match of the week, with kickoff set for 7:30 pm.

AmaZulu lost their first clash at the hands of Polokwane City while the Glamour Boys had a perfect start, defeating Marumo Gallants in Bloemfontein.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Motshwari said they are hoping that the expected large turnout of supporters could work in favour of Usuthu.

Motshwari stated they’re aiming for a strong comeback following their disappointing start to the season in Polokwane.

BEN MOTSHWARI SAYS USUTHU ARE AIMING TO BOUNCE BACK FROM POOR START

“Playing against teams like Chiefs, Pirates or Sundowns, I believe our coach doesn’t have to motivate us,” said Motshwari.

“It’s always a challenge playing against a big club but in terms of the fans and the numbers coming to the stadium, of course it’s a huge confidence booster amongst us as players.

“Playing in front of thousands and thousands of fans but at this instance, I believe it’s more about us AmaZulu, try and focus on our job and try and be where we want to be as a club, try to reach our targets as much as we can.

“We must try and focus more on Chiefs as our opponents. We can do that but now our main focus is improving ourselves as a club and going into this game with clear minds, forgetting about the previous game.

“We will try and rectify the mistakes we did against Polokwane City. Yes, it’s a big game on Wednesday but we don’t want to dwell too much on us treating ourselves that we’re playing against Kaizer Chiefs.

“Our main focus is on us and improving ourselves towards that game.”
