Agent clarifies whether Sekhukhune have option to buy Sipho Mbule

Mike Makaab, the agent of Mamelodi Sundowns on-loan midfielder Sipho Mbule has revealed whether Sekhukhune United have an option to purchase the player at the end of the season.

Mbule signed for Babina Noko on a season-long loan during the PSL transfer deadline day seeking increased playing time this season.

‘Masterchef’, as he’s affectionately known, faced injury challenges that impeded his progress at Chloorkop, particularly during the previous campaign.

In the 2023/24 season, he made only ten starts out of 22 matches that he played across five competitions the Tshwane giants were involved in.

Makaab has expressed hope that Mbule would utilise Sekhukhune’s opportunity to regain his best form, especially with the guidance of his former coach, Kaitano Tembo, who is now a senior coach at Sekhukhune.

“It was an opportunity, he’s got to work hard to get opportunities for game time. He can get himself back to a good level of fitness.

“Hopefully, he’ll take his career to the level that we all believe that he has the potential to do.

“But it’s gonna depend on him staying injury-free and his commitment, that’s important.”

DO SEKHUKHUNE HAVE THE OPTION TO BUY MBULE?

Makaab was asked whether the Limpopo outfit had an option to secure the services of the Free State’s native permanently at the end of his loan spell.

He responded: “It’s a straight loan, it’s a season loan. [He will be there] until the end of the season”. This means he will return to Sundowns at the end of the campaign.

Mbule could make his debut for Sekhukhune this upcoming Saturday. They host Golden Arrows at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, scheduled to kick off at 3 pm.
