Why a change of mentality helped Makgalwa rediscover his form

Sekhukhune United attacker Keletso Makgalwa has admitted that the setbacks in his career have required him to change his mentality.

Makgalwa has continued where he left off during his stint at Motsepe Foundation Championship club Upington City FC last season.

The 27-year-old scored 10 goals for the club, who narrowly missed out on an opportunity to qualify for the PSL Promotional/Relegation play-offs.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns player secured a move back to the Betway Premiership with Babina Noko. He has carried on with his impressoive form and has already scored two goals with an assist in Sekhukhune colours.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED FORWARD REAPS REWARDS FOR CHANGE OF MENTALITY

“I feel like it was just a change of mentality. Looking back in the past few years, I had so many setbacks and not playing,” he said.

“So I had to start my life all over again, and I felt I should start where I can play and get that love for football back. I had to go to David Mogashoa, and he gave me another chance.

KELETSO MAKGALWA REGAINS HIS FORM AT BETWAY PREMIERSHIP CLUB

Makgalwa insists his current form is just a continuation of what he was doing at Upington City last campaign.

“It’s a continuation from last season, and I told myself that once I get back in the top-flight, I have to show them what I am capable of. So I take each and every game seriously and make sure that I help the team to win. Also with the support of the players and the coach, everything has been so easy for me. But I have been working very hard.”

Sekhukhune are set to host Golden Arrows in their next Betway Premiership match at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
