Nabi sends warning to Chiefs fans amid bright start

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has sent a warning to Amakhosi fans amid the team’s bright start to the season under his new leadership.

Amakhosi have secured victories in their first two matches of the Betway Premiership, triumphing 2-1 over Marumo Gallants and most recently defeating AmaZulu FC 3-1.

They are level on points with Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, both of whom have also won their opening two fixtures.

Amakhosi played the last two matches before sold-out crowds at the Toyota Free State Stadium and Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Nabi has expressed his appreciation for the support he has received, even before his tenure at the club began, and he thanked the fans for their strong turnout in the two matches played thus far.

Nevertheless, he emphasised that as the team is still in construction, they may encounter “difficult moments” along the way and will need the same support they have been getting.

NABI ON WHERE THEY WILL NEED THE SUPPORT MORE

“I’d like to thank the fans because I’m not the one important in this whole thing, the whole club is important,” said Nabi.

“I’m very thankful to all the fans for supporting me because we still have a lot of things to build to get back to the successes we had in the past.

“I’m not the important one once again, I’m only thinking about the club and the fans.

“We might face difficult moments and we will need the fans to support us and [support us the way they have been].

“And these are the fans that are the essential point to bringing back Kaizer Chiefs to the very high level.”

The Tunisian tactician will have another challenge to take on this Saturday, 28 September as Amakhosi lock horns with the league champions Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium at 3 pm.

This will be their first game at home and the tickets have been selling like hot cake. If a complete sell-out does not occur, decent attendance is expected.
