Chiefs and Sundowns bounce back to winning ways in DDC

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways in the DDC having stumbled in the previous weekend.

Amakhosi managed a narrow 1-0 win against the league newcomers Magesi FC, marking their fourth victory out of five matches played this season.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys have reclaimed the top position in the standings, having amassed 12 points from their five games.

On the other hand, this match marked the first defeat for Magesi, who entered the encounter with three draws and one win to their name.

The Limpopo outfit occupies eighth place in the league standings with six points in the bag after five matches.

SUNDOWNS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

In another match, Mamelodi Sundowns triumphed over Polokwane City with a score of 3-2, earning them the full three points. This victory came after they had suffered two losses in their prior matches.

They have climbed up to the fourth position with nine points they have collected thus far.

This defeat was the first for Rise and Shine, who had drawn their initial three games, resulting in a total of three points. They remain in 13th place on the table.

Additionally, Sekhukhune United secured a significant 4-2 victory over SuperSport United, marking their second win of the season and a return to form after two consecutive losses.

In the day’s other matches, the reigning champions Stellenbosch comfortably defeated Chippa United 4-1 as they continue their pursuit of retaining the title.

They are now competing on top of the table as they sit in third place, just two points behind the league leaders, Kaizer Chiefs.
