Update on Tiklas Thutlwa’s recovery after horrific leg injury
Tiklas Thutlwa’s agent, Thabiso Thobane, has provided the latest update on his client following his horrific leg injury in January of this year.
Thutlwa joined Sekhukhune United in July 2023 after the player was released by Black Leopards following their relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the 2022/23 campaign.
Having joined Babina Noko, the club sent the talented winger out on a loan deal to Venda FC in January 2024, with the hope of getting more game time.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old never made an official appearance for the Vhembe-based outfit, as he broke his leg during their friendly game against the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs at Peter Mokaba Stadium in January 2023.
The former Motsepe Foundation Championship top goal-scorer, Thutlwa, has been on the sidelines for eight months now since his setback in January.
WHAT IS THE LATEST ON TIKLAS THUTLWA?
Thutlwa’s agent confirmed to this publication that his client will be going back to the hospital for surgery to remove plates from his leg next month, and he will be ready by December 2024.
Thobane further stated that there is a high possibility of the player being sent out on another loan when he returns to the club unless Babina Noko decides otherwise.
“Truly speaking, Tiklas is not yet fully recovered but next month he will go back to surgery to remove the plates,” Thobane told this website.
“I think by December that is where he will be ready. But there is a high chance that he will get a loan after his full recovery.
“So, he is not going to play with Sekhukhune, unless they change their mind moving forward.”
Thutlwa is currently nursing his leg injury from the comfort of his home, as his surgery to remove the plates is fast approaching.
