DDC: Pirates winless run extends to two games, Sekhukhune secure big win

Orlando Pirates winless run extended to two games in the DDC after they, once again, failed to secure maximum points this weekend while Sekhukhune United secured a second consecutive big win.

The Buccaneers were only able to earn a single point, concluding the match in a goalless draw against the league newcomers, Marumo Gallants, at Isak Steyl Stadium at VUT.

Pirates entered this match having suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat last week at the hands of TS Galaxy.

Joseph Makhanya’s men now remain in sixth position in the league standings having garnered a total of nine points from the six matches played this season.

On the other hand, this was Magesi’s fourth draw in six matches they have played thus far. They secured one victory and suffered one defeat in the other two encounters.

The Free State-based club currently holds the ninth position with a total of seven points accumulated from six games.

Orlando Pirates are next in action against Lamontville Golden Arrows on the road next Saturday while Magesi face Chippa United on the same day.

The Natal Rich Boyz climbed up to the eighth position after collecting their second victory of the season.

Meanwhile, for Babina Noko, this was their second consecutive significant victory, having previously defeated SuperSport United 4-2 last week. The Limpopo side now sits in fifth place with nine points after six matches.
