Jomo Cosmos off to flying start with win over Pirates’ feeder side
Jomo Cosmos have gotten off to a flying start in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates‘ feeder side, Pele Pele, on Saturday.
With the weekend win, Cosmos made it two out of two in the SAFA Gauteng amateur league.
Their perfect start puts them at the summit of the table with six points as they push for promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Ezenkosi are in their third season in the third-tier division of South African football.
In the Mpumalanga province, Middleburg United continued their fine form as they defeated Luthuli Brigades away from home with a 1-0 scoreline, topping the table with nine points after three games.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern Cape province, the league roared to life this weekend with two streams divided into the Coastal Stream and the Inland Stream. FC Ravens currently top the Inland Stream, whereas EMI FC are the log leaders in the Coastal Stream after winning their opening matches of the season.
