Peter Koutroulis makes bold statement on coach Sundra Govinder

Casric Stars football manager Peter Koutroulis has tipped the club’s head coach, Sundra Govinder, to be among the country’s top coaches soon.

Govinder was appointed as head coach of the Motsepe Foundation Championship side to take over from Aschwin Sutton in October 2023.

The former Kaizer Chiefs development coach helped the club finish seventh last season, four points below the promotion play-offs spot.

He was strongly linked with a move to Betway Premiership club Marumo Gallants at the beginning of the season.

PETER KOUTROULIS IMPRESSED BY WHAT HE HAS SEEN FROM HIS COACH AT MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB

“For me, the most important thing is that he knows football very well. I have worked with big coaches before. The man understands South African soccer. He knows how to put the team on the field.

‘I can tell you something: he trains the team like a professional university man. The most important thing is that you can be a professional man, but the players need to understand [you]. But the way this man does his training sessions, I can tell you,” added Koutroulis.

“You don’t need to finish college, school or University because he makes it so clear to them. Do me a favour: watch all the Casric games and the way the team plays. No other team in the NFD plays like this.”

Casric are currently at position three on the Motsepe Foundation Championship after six matches played. They are a point below log leaders Milford FC.
