SuperSport United defender Lyle Lakay has tipped a fellow teammate to prove doubters wrong in the current season.

SuperSport is one of the teams that have been competitive in the Betway Premiership, season after season. Their squad always has good quality players that impress each time they get an opportunity to play.

However, to balance the books, Matsatsantsa keep on losing their key players. Ahead of this season, they lost Shandre Campbell after he was snapped by Belgian giants Club Brugge. Campbell played a big part last season for the Tshwane side netting five goals alongside six assists in 30 matches in all competitions.

LYLE LAKAY BACKS VINCENT PULE TO GET BACK TO HIS BEST

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star says Vincent Pule has got all it takes to prove his doubters wrong and return to his best. In the past seasons, Pule’s progress has been constantly disturbed by injury setbacks.

Pule joined Matsatsantsa ahead of this season. He linked with the club as a free agent after he parted ways with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in July.

For the Tshwane side, ‘Mashonisa’ has made three appearances in all competitions and scored one goal on his debut against former side Pirates in the MTN8.

“We’ve replaced the players we lost with some quality players. We lost Shandre, it’s evident he was key for us, but we replaced him with a guy like [Vincent] Pule,” Lakay told FARPost.

“We all know Pule’s pedigree, we know the kind of player he is. He has shown it, he even scored on his debut against Orlando Pirates.

“He adds great value to the team, I think he will do well this season he should prove his doubters wrong [by scoring goals and providing assists]. He’s a senior player and there’s a lot that he does for the team.”
