Tercious Malepe returns to SA after a month in Asia
Former SA junior international Tercious Malepe has explained why he has returned to the country after spending a month in Asia.
Malepe was part of the Richards Bay FC squad when the club narrowly survived relegation through the PSL Relegation/Promotional Play-offs last season.
The former Bafana Bafana left-back did not return to the club for the new Betway Premiership season. This publication has established that Malepe spent a month at Vietnam Premiership side Ho Chi Minh City FC.
“I was training with them that side, and I spent a month in Vietnam,” he told FARPost.
WHY TERCIOUS MALEPE HAS RETURNED BACK TO SOUTH AFRICA
“It was a good run, but obviously, things didn’t go well in terms of negotiations, so I had to come back. But I am currently training alone to get myself fit for anything that might come up.”
MALEPE KEEPS FIT BY HIMSELF AS HE AWAITS A NEW CHALLENGE
Malepe also explains he is currently training alone keeping fit and ready for a new challenge when it arises.
“Of course, this is football, and it’s something that I understand. Sometimes, things don’t go the way you want them to. We are professional players, and that will never change. So you keep fit and be ready,” he said.
“Focus on what you want. What is important is your physical well-being and your mental health, and accommodate it with positivity so that you can wait. As you know in football things happen, teams lose and they reach out so that they strengthen their teams. If you get unfit, then you will have a problem.
“Obviously, match fitness will be an issue because you are training alone, and it’s not like when you are with a team. But it builds you up mentally, and that’s what is important and your body as well, you need to look after it. Obviously, when the chance comes, you are ready for it.”
