Seabi’s contract duration at Polokwane City FC revealed

Revered football agent Mike Makaab has disclosed Sammy Seabi’s contract duration at Polokwane City FC after the midfielder joined the club as a free transfer most recently.

Seabi parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns last month following an unsuccessful stint with the Pretoria-based side. The central midfielder joined Sundowns back in 2019 from PLK City after emerging as one of the best players in the Betway Premiership.

During his time at Sundowns, Seabi struggled to secure regular playing time, making only nine appearances across all competitions. As a result, he was loaned out to Moroka Swallows, Chippa United, and Sekhukhune United.

After being released by Sundowns, Seabi returned to Polokwane City, a club where he had previously enjoyed a successful stint. This reunion marks a fresh start for the Limpopo-born midfielder.

His agent, Mike Makaab, has disclosed that the 29-year-old has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.

“I can tell you that we have managed to strike a deal with Polokwane City for the services of Sammy Seabi. I think Sammy is a [good] player, and we all know his qualities,” Makaab told FARPost.

“So after leaving Sundowns, he was training with Polokwane City for a couple of weeks and now he has signed with the club. The contract is one year with an option to extend for another year.”

Seabi will be hoping to be part of the matchday squad when Polokwane City face Marumo Gallants in the Last 16 of the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday, 19 October.

Interestingly, PLK City have had a decent start to the 2024/25 campaign after they won two league matches, drew one and lost once in four games. They are currently sitting fifth on the log standings with seven points.
