Chiefs highly-rated defender set to miss Magesi tie

Kaizer Chiefs have suffered a significant blow ahead of their clash against Magesi FC in the Betway Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday.

The Soweto giants will be on the road once again, this time facing the SA top-flight league newcomers. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 PM, with both teams eager to bounce back from disappointing results in the previous round.

Amakhosi suffered a 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United, while Magesi played to a goalless draw against Cape Town City FC.

Currently, Chiefs sit in ninth place on the log with two wins and two losses in four matches. Magesi, on the other hand, are in 13th position with one win, two draws, and two losses.

Under the guidance of new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs have shown signs of improvement, and there’s renewed hope of a turnaround of fortunes at Naturena.

Other players that are suspended for the midweek league games include Cape Town City’s Tshegofatso Nyama and Edgar Manaka of Marumo Gallants. Stellenbosch FC’s Jayden Adams is also suspended alongside TS Galaxy duo of Dzenan Zajmovic and Victor Letsoalo.

Nyama has also received four yellow cards in the current season. Adams was sent off against Richards Bay FC after getting two yellow cards. Manaka received a straight red card against TS Galaxy.

Galaxy duo Zajmovic and Letsoalo were sent off against Chippa United in the Carling Knockout Cup Last 16.
