Tim Sukazi clarifies Sead Ramovic’s TS Galaxy resignation
TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has shed light on the circumstances surrounding Sead Ramovic’s sudden resignation at the Rockets.
The German coach announced his departure live on SuperSport TV Wednesday night following a 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership.
Ramovic, who has been instrumental in Galaxy’s transformation over the past three years, led the club to a remarkable sixth-place finish and the Carling Knockout Cup final last season.
However, this season has been less successful, with the team struggling to find form and suffering an early exit from the Carling Knockout Cup.
When asked about his decision, Ramovic cited the immense challenge of rebuilding the team from scratch after losing key players like Given Msimango, Bathusi Aubaas, Melusi Buthelezi, Fiacre Ntwari, Pogiso Sanoka, Lehlohonolo Mojela, and Tshegofatso Nyama in recent seasons.
WHAT TIM SUKAZI SAID ABOUT SEAD RAMOVIC’S RESIGNATION
Sukazi confirmed that he was aware of Ramovic’s intention to resign, revealing that the coach had initially informed his players of his decision after their loss to Magesi FC on Sunday.
“Yes, I was aware… Sead announced his resignation on Sunday after our game against Magesi [to the team] in the change room,” Sukazi told Metro FM Sport.
“We met on Monday and went through what we had to discuss. We went to the game against Stellenbosch knowing that he has resigned, it is his last game.
“My message to the team once he was done with his technical, tactical analysis… I said to the team, this being the last game of our coach, we know he has contributed a lot to the club. He has shaped many of you and your careers. All you could do tonight is just give him a very resounding send-off by playing well.”
Sukazi further revealed that on Sunday, when the coach announced his resignation, he was not aware of the decision. He believes it was “in the heat of the moment”.
