Samir Nurkovic’s expectations under Gavin Hunt’s guidance at SuperSport

Newly-signed SuperSport United striker Samir Nurković has shared his expectations of working under four-time league champion Gavin Hunt at the club.

Nurković, known for his aerial prowess and goal-scoring ability, has begun a new chapter in his SA football journey.

As first reported by FARPost, the Serbian striker has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with SuperSport, as announced by the club on Friday.

However, the 32-year-old hitman will have to wait until January to make his Matsatsantsa debut as the club awaits the processing of his work permit.

Nurković, who joins SuperSport after amicably parting ways with TS Galaxy at the end of last season, has a decent goal-scoring record in the PSL. Since arriving in South Africa in 2019, he has netted 31 goals and provided 10 assists in over 100 matches. A significant portion of his goal tally, 21 goals, came during his impressive stint at Kaizer Chiefs. But, injuries disrupted his progress.

The former Royal AM forward, Nurković, is excited to reunite with Hunt at SuperSport. He previously worked with Hunt at Amakhosi.

Nurković believes Hunt is one of the best coaches in South Africa and is eager to learn from him once again. “I feel excited and optimistic about working under coach Gavin Hunt again,” he said.

Nurkovic also acknowledged the SuperSport fanbase and assured them that he would strive to deliver the best possible performance on the field.

With Bradley Grobler sidelined due to injury, Hunt will rely on Nurkovic’s experience to fill the void and contribute to the team’s goal-scoring efforts.
