What former Dondol Stars coach learnt during his PSL stint with Limpopo side

Former Dondol Stars FC coach Khuliso Rashamuse shared what he learned during his time in the PSL before his recent move to Dikgosi FC in the ABC Motsepe League.

Rashamuse joined the SAFA Free State ABC Motsepe League outfit as their new mentor a week ago following the departure of coach Tshegofatso Mashego.

This came after Rashamuse decided to cut ties with PSL side Venda FC on a mutual agreement, where he served as their assistant coach in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Rashamuse was with Venda FC for eight months working alongside coach Duncan Lechesa, who left the team join Marumo Gallants in the SA elite league.

KHULISO RASHAMUSE’S PSL STINT TAKEAWAYS

Rashamuse admitted that coaching a PSL club is very different from coaching an amateur side, as a professional team demands a higher level of commitment due to the high standards, which is one of the things he has learned.

“Well, there’s a huge difference between coaching a PSL club and an ABC Motsepe League team. In the PSL, there are so many preparations, a lot of hard work, analysis of the opposition, and managing bigger players with big egos, you know,” Rashamuse told FARPost.

“As much as it’s educational, it’s very tough. It’s not an easy task to coach a PSL side. However, the eight months of experience I had while I was with Venda FC came in handy.

“But there’s always room for improvement in one’s coaching career and growth as an individual.”

WHAT COACH KHULISO RASHAMUSE MAKE OF HIS NEW CLUB, DIKGOSI FC

Rashamuse described his new side Dikgosi FC as a very ambitious team and is keen to see what the future holds for him at the club.

“They’re a very ambitious team, but ambition alone cannot do the job. If you’re ambitious, there are a lot of things that you need to do right,” he added.

“When I’m here, I will be able to see if the ambitions align with how the team is working to reach their goals or objectives. If you are truly present with the team, you can effectively collaborate with them and avoid jumping to conclusions about their ambition.

“But when you work within the organisation, you can tell that their demands and what they want you to achieve align with what they’re saying and what they want to do.”
