Molefi Ntseki finds new home

Former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has found a new home after being appointed as the Technical Director at Marumo Gallants.

The Betway Premiership side are strengthening their technical team after making their return to the SA’s top-flight at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Gallants purchased the status of Moroka Swallows, who faced financial constraints which saw them struggle to pay the salaries of their players.

In a bid to build a competitive team, the Bloemfontein-based outfit has roped in Ntseki as the Technical Director.  As the TD, Ntseki will assist the club’s head coach, Dan Malesela.

Ntseki’s last job was with Chiefs when he took over the head coaching role at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. However, the ex-Bafana Bafana coach was shown the exit at Naturena just a few months into the job due to a dismal start to the season.

This was after the Glamour Boys had an inconsistent run that saw them get knocked out of the 2023 MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup in the space of a few months.

After his exit at Amakhosi, Cavin Johnson came in as Ntseki’s replacement on an interim basis. Johnson guided Chiefs to a disappointing 10th-place finish in the previous season. The below-par display prompted the Soweto giants to make drastic changes.

They opted to appoint Nasreddine Nabi as the new coach. Moreover, the Tunisian mentor arrived at Amakhosi with his own technical team.

“Gallants team and management look forward to Ntseki’s leadership and expertise to support the club’s technical growth and success.”

Furthermore, Ntseki expressed his excitement about his new role as technical director. He stated that he is eager to contribute to Gallants’ success.
