Vusi Vilakazi highlights areas for growth for Moremi, Brooks & Human

AmaZulu FC co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has highlighted areas for growth for Usuthu trio – Tshepang Moremi, Rowan Human and Ethan Brooks.

AmaZulu secured bragging rights in the KZN derby with a 3-1 victory over Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

This was the fourth match for Vilakazi and Arthur Zwane, who took over the reins as joint head coaches following the sacking of Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martin. After losing their first two matches, they have now won their last two.

Vilakazi lauded his troops for their evident desire to win. He was asked about the aforementioned trio, who delivered notable performances, with Brooks and Human contributing goals and Moremi making a significant impact.

Vilakazi expressed satisfaction with the players’ performance, though he emphasised that their potential remains untapped.

He further noted that the trio must enhance their defensive structure, an area that still has room for improvement.

WHERE ETHAN BROOKS, ROWAN HUMAN & TSHEPANG MOREMI MUST IMPROVE

“I think they are players with potential and a lot of potential, I must say, but obviously, we still feel that they are still in their closet. They still need to come out of their closet, but that goes with the motivation,” said Vilakazi.

“We need to motivate them; we need to give them that freedom so that they can express themselves but obviously within the structure.

“In terms of keeping the ball we can’t coach them but we need to emphasise and put more emphasis in terms of the defensive structure because that’s where they’re lacking.

“But with ball usage and stuff, they are top class but they are players who must come out of their closet in terms of being one of the best in South Africa.”
