Katsande points out two areas Nabi must reinforce at Chiefs
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has pointed out two areas Nasreddine Nabi must reinforce at Amakhosi to balance his team.
Katsande defended the Tunisian mentor saying he was not wrong to say there was a “lack of professionalism” following their 2-2 draw with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit Royal AM in their Betway Premiership encounter this past Saturday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. Amakhosi blew a 2-0 lead on Saturday after Wandile Duba and Ashley Du Preez gave them the lead in the first half.
The retired footballer emphasised that the players need to put in more effort and improve their game, as there are “encouraging signs” at the Soweto giants, under Nabi’s tutelage. Katsande also lamented the lack of leadership within the Glamour Boys squad, citing that it contributes to their loss of focus.

The ex-Zimbabwean international noted that Chiefs need to sign something he described as a “hard man” in the middle of the park and a goal-scorer. In addition, Katsande disclosed that the Naturena-based team requires a minimum of four transfer windows with coach Nabi to put everything in order.
“They need a hard man in midfield and a striker. However, there is also a lack of leaders. You need people who can keep the heads cool,” said Katsande on Radio 2000 on Monday night.
“I think Chiefs need at least four transfer windows under Nabi because there are some encouraging signs.
“I don’t think the Coach was wrong to say there was a lack of professionalism. At least he didn’t single out certain departments. He spoke about the whole team and knows that they should have done better.”
Currently, Chiefs hold the seventh position in the standings with 11 points from seven matches.
The club’s upcoming league match is set for Sunday, 8 December, against Polokwane City FC at the New Peter Mokaba in Polokwane. The match is set to start at 15:30.
