Ambitious Zim club targeting Sekhukhune coach

An ambitious and newly promoted Zimbabwean club, Scottland FC, is eyeing one of Sekhukhune United’s coaches, FARPost can reveal.

Scottland FC gained promotion into Zimbabwe’s PSL following the conclusion of the 2024 season. And they are not resting on their laurels in a bid to assemble a formidable side for Premiership football.

During their bid for promotion, Scottland FC were spurred by former PSL stars. These include Lincoln Zvasiya, Ronald Pfumbidzai and Denver Mukamba, formerly with Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and the University of Pretoria, respectively.

Former Bidvest Wits left-back McClive Phiri was also part of the team that won the promotion ticket.

The club continues to show their faith in personnel who honed their skills in the Betway Premiership.

KAITANO TEMBO TARGETING SCOTTLAND FC’S

Sources close to FARPost have revealed that Scottland FC have shortlisted Kaitano Tembo as one of their targets for the head coach job.

Tembo is currently at Sekhukhune United FC as a senior coach, working hand-in-glove with head coach Lehlohonolo Seema.

Over the years, Tembo has garnered vast experience, having previously worked for Babina Noko in 2022.

Before that, he had served at SuperSport United FC, where he became their longest-serving in the last ten to seven years.

For the Scottland FC job the 54-year-old and former Chippa United mentor Norman Mapeza were shortlisted for the Scottland FC job.

Mapeza is currently attached to FC Platinum, who ended the 2024 Zimbabwean season as bridesmaids.

Nyasa Bullets and Malawi national team interim coach Callisto Pasuwa is also on their wish-list. Genesis Mangombe, who led them to Zimbabwe’s PSL, is part of the list. Tonderai Ndiraya, who helped Simba Bhora win the 2024 Zimbabwean PSL title, is part of the list.

Meanwhile, former Polokwane City FC forward Walter Musona is on his way to join Scottland FC after his Simba Bhora contract has expired.

They are also aiming to convince Khama Billiat to join them following his departure from Yadah FC.
