Mnyamane opens up on signing with SuperSport despite big three interest
Retired midfielder Thabo Mnyamane has opened up on signing with SuperSport United despite interest from the big three of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mnyamane, who recently retired from professional football has taken a role of as the performance analyst and set piece coach at Sekhukhune United.
Before taking a role in the Sekhukhune United’s technical team, the left-footed attacker had a successful career in the SA’s top-flight for over a decade.
In the PSL, Mnyamane played for clubs such as AmaTuks, SuperSport United, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC, and Marumo Gallants.
The 32-year-old broke into the scene in 2013 with AmaTuks and he was one of the most sought after players at the time.
His impressive skills to assist and score goals saw him attract attention from Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns. However, Mnyamane chose to sign with SuperSport.

While the former Bafana Bafana international admitted that there was interest in his services, he revelead that he doesn’t regret chosing Matsatsantsa over the big three.
“As I said, I believe everything happens for a reason, there was interest but obviously, I took a different path and I don’t regret,” Mnyamane told FARPost.
“I believe the routes I took and the teams that signed me made me the person that I am today. It also helped me to grow as an individual, not just being a football player. I’m happy and I don’t have regrets to be honest.”
Mnyamane joined SuperSport at the start of the 2016/17 campaign after AmaTuks were relegated to the second-tier league.
In his four seasons at SuperSport, Thabo Mnyamane helped the club to win two MTN8 trophies and the Nedbank Cup title.
He scored 21 goals and provided nine assists in 74 matches across all competitions for The Spartans.
