Haashim Domingo’s words of wisdom to Mayo and Mokwana
Cape Town City FC midfielder Haashim Domingo has offered words of wisdom to the North Africa-based duo of Elias Mokwana and Khanyisa Mayo.
Domingo spent a year in the books of Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca after leaving serial PSL winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 29-year-old spent three years at Sundowns before leaving for Morocco. And after a year in North Africa, Domingo picked key lessons he believes will be key for Mokwana and Mayo.
Mokwana is plying his trade for Esperance Tunis in Tunisia. He joined the club from Sekhukhune United in August 2024.
Mayo is in the books of Algerian giants CR Belouizdad, where he is slowly settling after scoring twice in two games.
He scored in their 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in a CAF Champions League match. The 26-year-old then scored in their 2-0 over ASO Chlef.

In an interview with FARPost, Domingo shed light on key lessons he drew from his time in Morocco. “I was there and I learnt a lot from the experience. All I can say is that they have take this chance seriously.
“Being in North Africa is a big step on its own. It is a stepping stone to get into bigger teams not only in Africa but in Europe. I think, from there, it’s easy to move into Europe, but they have to be resilient and work hard in the process.
“There are obviously challenges that are there. The language barrier is one of the common challenges, but eventually, they must sail through.
“I always talk to Mayo, telling him to keep pushing and know that being in North Africa means he is exceptional.
“This is a stepping stone that must be used in real-time. And I am happy for them that they have a good opportunity at hand,” added Domingo told FARPost.
