The 8 confirmed amateur clubs set to compete in Nedbank Cup Last 32
Eight clubs from the ABC Motsepe League have secured their spots in the Last 32 of the 2025 Nedbank Cup competition.
The eight amateur teams will participate alongside eight teams from the Motsepe Foundation Championship and the 16 Betway Premiership clubs in the tournament’s Round of 32.
In fact, no team from the SAFA Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League [fourt-tier league] has reached the Nedbank Cup Last 32 this season. Every amateur team that has made it to the competition consists entirely of the ABC Motsepe League teams.
As there are nine provinces and eight spots up for grabs, a draw was held, and two provincial champions competed in a playoff to determine who qualifies for the Nedbank Cup Last 32.
In this case, Sibanye Golden Stars, representing Free State province, locked horns with Kimberley Saints from the Northern Cape on November 23, 2024.
Sibanye Golden Stars triumphed on the day by overcoming Kimberley Saints with a score of 2-1, securing their place in the Round of 32.
As a result, there is no amateur team representing the Northern Cape province in the Nedbank Cup tournament.
THE EIGHT CONFIRMED AMATEUR CLUBS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEDBANK CUP
The eight teams that have secured their places in the Last 32 are Vasco Da Gama [Western Cape], Umvoti FC [KwaZulu-Natal], Lerumo Lions [North West], Mpheni Defenders [Limpopo], Naas The Bees [Mpumalanga], Sibanye Golden Stars [Free State], Mighty Eagles [Eastern Cape], Free Agents [Gauteng].
Meanwhile, yesterday, we also witnessed the eight teams that will compete in the Nedbank Cup from the Motsepe Foundation Championship being confirmed.
The eight teams are Milford FC, Baroka FC, Venda FC, Kruger United, Durban City, Pretoria Callies, Hungry Lions, and Cape Town Spurs.
The draw for the Nedbank Cup Last 32 will be confirmed by the PSL in due course.
