Details around Mabhuti Khenyeza’s uncertain future at Arrows

A cloud of uncertainty looms over Mabhuti Khenyeza’s future at Golden ArrowsFARPost delves deeper into the factors behind this dramatic turn of events.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker assumed the role of head coach at Abafana Bes’thende following the departure of Steve Komphela, who returned to his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns.

This is the second time Khenyeza has been the sole head coach of the club. Last season, he took charge alone after the exit of Vusumuzi Vilakazi.

Following the departure of Komphela, Arrows added assistant coach Kagiso Dikgacoi to the technical team, which also includes Musa Bilankulu.

WHY KHENYEZA COULD POSSIBLY LEAVE ARROWS?

FARPost has been informed that a group of players on the team are unhappy with Khenyeza.

According to sources within the Arrows’ walls, these players have voiced their concerns to the management. The club’s response to this situation remains unknown.

However, as first reported by iDiski Times, Khenyeza hasn’t been attending training this week following the team’s victory over Cape Town City FC last week on Sunday.

Kagiso Dikgacoi and Musa Bilankulu have been conducting training sessions, but it appears they have not provided any explanation to the players regarding the Arrows gaffer’s absence.

Khenyeza’s reign last season was marked by a disastrous losing streak that spanned 11 matches across all competitions. Desperate to turn things around, the club turned back to their former coach, Komphela, in March.

This season, the KZN side began with a positive start, winning their opening two league games. Unfortunately, their form took a downturn, leading to a four-game losing streak. This included three losses in the Betway Premiership and one defeat in the Carling Knockout Cup.

In their last three matches, Arrows managed to turn things around, winning two games and drawing one.

The Durban-based club is currently occupying the sixth position in the league standings. After eight games played, they have accumulated a total of 13 points.
