Sundra Govinder breaks silence on Casric Stars resignation
Outgoing Casric Stars head coach Sundra Govinder has explained his surprise resignation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship club.
Casric Stars announced the departure of Govinder in an official statement on Thursday.
He has been at the club for over three years, and he has also served as a technical director. The ex-Kaizer Chiefs head of development leaves the club in position seven, six points below Milford FC who are the current log leaders.
FARPost reached out to Govinder, who described his time at the club as a beautiful experience.

“I won’t lie; it was a beautiful stay. It’s very rare that you will find good people supporting you in what you do, allowing you to do your job. I had a lovely time at the club,” he said.

Govinder has since explained to this publication that although it was not an easy decision, he had to prioritise his health. He is also optimistic about returning to football as soon as he fully recovers.
“The past four weeks, my health was not at its best. You can’t be a coach sitting at home. You need to be closer to the club,” he explained to FARPost.
“For me personally, my health comes first, and obviously, in a space like this, the club is prioritising. By prioritising the club, I spoke to the chairman and explained to him. “It wasn’t easy for any of us. But at this point, it was the best thing for me personally and obviously for the club just to continue into the New Year.”
Meanwhile, the club has appointed Selaotse “Sly” Mosala and Hassan Falayajo on an interim basis.
