Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s take: What he thinks of Chiefs assistant coach Kaze
Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has shared his thoughts on Cedric Kaze, revealing that the Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach has helped him grasp a key element of the game, contributing to his own growth.
Kaze was named assistant coach of the Soweto giants in October this year as a tactical enhancement to coach Nasreddine Nabi’s technical staff after Fernando Da Cruz’s exit before the start of the Betway Premiership season.
The 45-year-old mentor comes highly endorsed as he possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science, a CAF A Licence, and a German Football Federation A Licence.
In addition, he won six trophies in two seasons during his stint with Tanzanian giants Young Africans, where he also worked under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
WHAT NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO SAID ABOUT ASSISTANT COACH CEDRIC KAZEE
Ngcobo acknowledged that Kaze’s presence at the Glamour Boys has revitalised the club. He cited that he has formed an excellent technical partnership with head coach Nabi.
The Chiefs midfielder continued by stating that he learned the importance of versatility as a professional footballer.
This was evidenced when he played as an 8 in Gqeberha during the Home of Legends Cup last month. The former SA junior international has always been known as a 10. Kaze was in charge of Chiefs in the friendly tournament when Ngcobo was deployed in a different position.
“I think for him to be there is to make sure he puts emphasis on what coach Nabi wants,” said Ngcobo in an interview with FARPost.
“He and Coach Nabi make a great technical team. We are very happy to serve under their leadership this season.
“He has helped me understand that as a professional footballer, you need to know how to play different positions. So, I would be comfortable in any position and try to make the best out of it.”
As things stand, Chiefs sit in seventh place in the Betway Premiership log standings. They have managed to collect 11 points over seven matches.
The club’s next league game is scheduled for Sunday, 8 December, facing Polokwane City FC. The game will take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with the kick-off set for 15:30.
