‘He tried to help me’ – Langerman on relationship with Pitso
Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Tebogo Langerman has shared some interesting insights on his relationship with former coach Pitso Mosimane while at the Tshwane giants.
Langerman worked with Mosimane at Masandawana from 2012 until 2020, when the latter moved to African football giants Al Ahly.
Langerman, who is now 38, is a player-coach at SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Sunrise FC.
The experienced left-back with over 370 matches under his belt in the professional ranks last played in the SA elite league for the Moroka Swallows.
He tells FARPost that he has learnt a lot from working with various coaches in his career. Langerman says it was during his stint at Sundowns under Mosimane that he feels has prepared him to be a coach.

“I have learnt a lot from a lot of coaches. Eric Tinkler, Roger [De Sa], Gavin Hunt, Pitso [Mosimane], Rulani [Mokwena], [Johan] Neeskens the late,” Langerman told FARPost.
“I used to watch their training sessions, how they built the training sessions and everything. I was a player, but I was always learning.”
HOW TEBOGO LANGERMAN LEARNT FROM HIS INTERESTING RELATIONSHIP WITH COACH PITSO MOSIMANE
“But if there is someone that I have to pick there, it should be Pitso because I spent more years with him. We fought, we kissed, we loved each other, and you know, he prepared me. But I think I also helped him because I think I was difficult to deal with [he laughs].
“Every day Pitso and I used to fight. But it worked for both of us because I believe he pushed me, and I also pushed him. So now I am a player-coach, and I see things that I was doing to all these coaches, especially Pitso. I see those things because they are happening now to me.
“When a player is trying to lie to me, I already know. I can see through them. But Pitso, for me, is someone who tried to help me in terms of life decision-making and other things. I did some, and some I did not listen to, but I am good.”
