Mohafe explains why Galaxy is stronger than Chiefs and Sundowns

Polokwane City FC coach Phuti Mohafe has picked TS Galaxy as their toughest opponent as compared to Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in their recent matches.

PLK City climbed to third place on the Betway Premiership log standings after a 2-0 win against Chiefs on Sunday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. They are four points behind leaders Sundowns.

The Limpopo-based club has only collected four points from their last four matches. This includes a draw against Galaxy and three points against Chiefs while they lost 2-0 against Sundowns.

But Mohafe feels Galaxy are the team that gave them the toughest time out of the three.

WHY TS GALAXY WAS THE TOUGHEST OPPONENT AS COMPARED TO KAIZER CHIEFS AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

“Up to so far, I can say there are special matches that Polokwane City has played. I think we have treated them well,” he said.

“It’s Sundowns, Chiefs and TS Galaxy because Galaxy is a strong team. It’s a strong team and is stronger than Chiefs and Sundowns, according to me. They are very difficult to beat. So these three matches have been the mirror of what we are doing as the technical team of Polokwane City and the club as a whole.”

PHUTI MOHAFE PLEASED WITH POLOKWANE CITY JUMPING INTO THE TOP THREE

With the win against Chiefs on Sunday, ‘Rise and Shine’ have jumped into the top three on the log standings after playing 10 matches.

“Our target is to finish in the top eight. So we can not lose matches and expect us to remain in the top eight,” added Mohafe.

“So by winning the matches, it tells us that we will still be in the top eight. You don’t have to look at us and say we are still a small team. We have to go and perform with the teams because the points are the same. Where you get them it doesn’t matter.

“You get them from the small teams or the so-called big teams; it’s the same. So, going to the top three presently cements our top eight. So we just need to continue working this hard.”
