Three teams in one season: Tshepo Motsoeneng bags another coaching gig
Coach Tshepo Motsoeneng has secured another coaching position, this time in the SAFA Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League. This will mark Motsoeneng’s third coaching role this season.
The former SuperSport United and Santos FC goalkeeper has been appointed Tiger Boys’ new head coach for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
This comes after Motsoeneng parted ways with the KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League side Dlangezwa Hellenic FC. In October this year, he was named Dlangezwa’s head coach following his shocking departure from Njampela FC, which he had guided to the 2024 SA third-tier national playoffs.
Motsoeneng, with 10 points from nine matches, leaves Dlangezwa fifth in Stream A of their provincial ABC Motsepe League table.
TSHEPO MOTSOENENG TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING IN JANUARY 2025
Motsoeneng, who led Bizana Pondo Chiefs to the SA second division in 2020, will hit the ground running in January 2025. He addressed the team during their last game of the year.
According to local reports, Motsoeneng is set to bring his technical staff, with ex-Chippa United player Bafana Dlamini expected to join him as his assistant.
Motsoeneng comes highly recommended, having clinched the ABC Motsepe League title more than five times.
In his coaching career, he has also managed teams such as Tornado FC, Buffalo City Municipal Stars, Sinenkani FC, and Zizwe United.
As of now, Tiger Boys are sixth in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League log standings, with 23 points from 14 outings.
The club will kick off the new year with a home league match against Luthuli Brigades on Saturday, 18 January, at 15:00.
Considering Motsoeneng’s reputation for success in the Motsepe League, he is likely to push for the league title. Furthermore, he must fulfil the criteria for the national playoffs and secure a place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
