‘We will do it, I can guarantee you that’: Rulani Mokwena
Wydad Casablanca head coach Rulani Mokwena has exuded unwavering confidence in his ability to achieve a specific goal during his tenure at the Moroccan giants, declaring, “We will do it; I can guarantee you that.”
Mokwena uttered these words after Wydad AC dropped points in the 1-1 draw against Renaissance Zemamra at the Stade Terrain Ahmed Chokri on Monday evening in the Botola Pro 1.
The stalemate saw Wydad AC miss the opportunity to gain ground on league leaders RS Berkane, leaving them in third place with 24 points after 15 games. There is a significant eight-point gap separating Mokwena’s troops from the summit.
Despite this setback, Wydad extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the league with three wins and four draws in the process.
After the Zemamra game, a confident Mokwena declared that the current Wydad squad possesses the quality to win the Botola Pro. However, the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns coach stated that he couldn’t predict the exact timeframe for this achievement.
RULANI MOKWENA CONFIDENT OF WYDAD AC TITLE WIN
“We haven’t played enough away games with our fans to help and support us and give us a boost,” said Mokwena, as quoted by Elbotola.com. “We struggled a bit on the road, and our home performances have been excellent.
“If someone had told me we would be third or fourth in the standings in the middle of the season with 36 new players, new management and a new coach, I would have said we are on a good way. But we are winners, and we want to achieve more than that.
“We want to achieve more, to compete for the title. We want to win the championship, of course. I don’t know how long it will take us to win the championship, but we will do it; I can guarantee you that because this is a very good team…” added Mokwena.
