Black Leopards make changes to the technical team

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards have brought in coach Stanford Nkoane as part of their technical team, FARPost has learnt.

Nkoane was recently part of Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants, where he was tasked with guiding the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side. He also had a stint at Baroka FC, where he was the head coach.

Leopards are in pursuit of promotion back to the elite league. But they have encountered some inconsistent results in the last few games. They have not won in the last six matches in all competitions. But the Limpopo club is just eight points below log leaders Durban City FC.

Speaking before the festive season break, Konadu was optimistic that their fortunes would change when the league resumes in January.

“We have been scoring away from home. This is a time when the team needs one another to regroup and come back very strong after the break,” said Konadu.

“We have more matches to play when we resume, and that is where we will at least get everybody together. We will regroup and try to start everything like we started in the beginning. We were one of the teams that was playing very good football, and we didn’t want to shy away from that. We should continue to do our best and make sure that we put the team back to where it belongs.”

When the league resumes, Leopards will take on Venda FC in a Limpopo Derby at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, 11 January.
