Fadlu Davids’ plea to Simba fans as title race heats up
Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has sent a passionate plea to the club fans as the chase for the league title against rivals Young Africans heats up.
Fadlu and his Simba side currently lead the log standings in the Tanzanian Premier League with 37 points, one ahead of Yanga after 14 matches played. In the 14 games played, the former Orlando Pirates coach won 12, drew one, and lost one.
The 22-time Tanzanian champions have not won the title since the 2020/21 season. Since his arrival, Davids has brought some hope to the Simba fans of bringing a league title for the ‘Wekundu wa Msimbazi’ fans.
The 43-year-old has urged the club fans to keep believing in his team in their chase for the title.
WHAT PLEA FADLU DAVIDS HAS SENT TO HIS CLUB FANS RECENTLY?
“I just want to urge the Simba fans to keep believing in the team. We will never give up, and that is our mentality,” said Davids after a hard-fought 1-0 win over JKT Tanzania on Tuesday.
“That is the culture that we are trying to create here. We will never give up, and we need our fans pushing us to keep being behind the team because these players were absolutely magnificent.”

“A huge compliment to the players for sticking to the plan. For going from the first minute until the end trying to score. They had zero chances against us that gave us any trouble. So good performances defensively, not allowing any counterattacks.
“But that is what it is all about. You have to give threats to JKT. It was a fantastic set-up, trying to hit us on the counterattack. We knew it was tough in the fourth game in a very short space of time after CS Sfaxien and the two early matches in between,” he added.
“We knew with the heat it was going to be tough, but a huge compliment to the players. We have one more to go before we switch our focus to CAF. So it’s now a tough away trip to Singida.”
