What the future holds for Bradley Grobler at SuperSport United

SuperSport United’s veteran striker, Bradley Grobler, has provided an update on his future, revealing his intentions regarding his continued involvement with the club.

Grobler, a stalwart of SuperSport United, has endured a frustrating period marred by persistent injury setbacks in recent seasons. Despite his long and illustrious career with the club, consistent progress has been hampered by these unfortunate occurrences.

The 36-year-old striker has recently recovered from a knee injury, limiting his game time in the current Betway Premiership season. He has made only five appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Grobler signed a one-year contract extension with SuperSport United ahead of the current season, meaning his current deal will expire in January 2025. The club has yet to make a decision on whether to offer him a new contract, leaving his future uncertain.

Despite his advancing age, ‘Sniper’ remains determined to continue playing football for as long as his body permits. The former Bafana Bafana striker has previously expressed his desire to remain active on the pitch, highlighting his unwavering commitment to the sport.

Grobler says the club is yet to make a decision about his contract extension. At 36, the experienced striker wants to keep on playing football.

“Look, the club is yet to open discussions on the contract extension,” Grobler told FARPost. “For me, right now, my main focus is to help the team improve its performance.

“I just returned from an injury. I just want to maintain being fit now; then the rest will take care of itself. I have thought about it [retirement]; however, for now, it’s something that’s not in my plans.

“As long as my body is willing to play, I will keep on playing. I will be doing something that I love and grew up wanting to do when I was young.”
