AmaZulu’s Senzo ‘Mbhobho’ Ndlovu looks set for loan move to Durban City

AmaZulu FC striker Senzo ‘Mbhobho’ Ndlovu appears poised for a loan move to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City FC.

Ndlovu has spent the last six months with the club, having joined at the start of the season after making a strong impression at Sinenkani FC in the ABC Motsepe League.

He rattled the back of the net on 23  occasions for Sinenkani. And further shone during the Khabba Cup – the off-season tournament in Durban, emerging as the top goalscorer and helping Two For Joy lift the trophy.

However, he has seen limited game time, featuring in just three matches across all competitions. He has made three substitute appearances, totalling 30 minutes of playing time.

According to FARPost sources, the player has started training with Durban City with the deal between the two clubs yet to be finalised.

Ndlovu was with Durban City on Thursday as the Simo Dladla-led side was gearing up for the resumption of the league matches next week.

The potential move to Durban City presents a valuable opportunity for the 28-year-old to prove himself and increase his chances of securing a regular starting position at his parent club upon his return next season.

With Ndlovu’s departure imminent, Usuthu may need to bolster their attacking options. The club’s co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi hinted that the club might seek a new center-forward during the current transfer window.

VILAKAZI ON ‘NEED TO GET A STRIKER’ AT AMAZULU

“Maybe, I think we need to get a striker as well,” said Vilakazi.

“Obviously, we’ve got [Junior] Dion, we’ve got Igho [Etiosa Ighodaro] now and we have Mbhobho [Ndlovu], but Igho is not our player, he’s on loan [from Mamelodi Sundowns].

“So, I think if we can get a striker that will give more competition, it will be perfect for us. So, that’s the department for now that I think we need to make sure that we get someone.”
