How much Khama Billiat pocketed after signing for Scottland FC

Having been the highest-paid player in the Zimbabwe topflight last season, Khama Billiat is set to continue his reign as the country’s top earner after signing for Scottland FC.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs forward was among the highest-paid players in the PSL before he left Amakhosi. The 33-year-old earned a substantial salary at Chiefs, although exact figures have never been confirmed since joining the club in 2018.

When he returned to Zimbabwe, Billiat became the highest earner in the league, pocketing about R95,500 [US$5 000] per month. Yadah had also splashed R378,000 [US$20 000] in signing-on fees for Billiat, who was a free agent.

Billiat repaid Walter Magaya-owned Yadah FC with exceptional performances. He scored 13 goals, the second-highest in the league, and contributed 11 assists. Yadah FC finished the season in 11th place.

Furthermore, Billiat boldly reversed his international retirement decision. Under Michael Nees’s guidance, he played a crucial role in helping the Zimbabwean Warriors qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

WHAT KHAMA BILLIAT RECEIVED FOR THE SCOTTLAND FC MOVE

FARPost sources have revealed that his new club, Scottland have doubled figures for him. Billiat’s signing-on fee is believed to be a hefty US$40 000 [roughly R748 000), but the exact details of his monthly earnings remain shrouded in secrecy.

This signing-on fee sets a new record for the highest amount paid by a Zimbabwean club to a footballer. Without a doubt, he will be among the highest-paid players in the team judging by his profile. How he will fare at the club remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Scottland FC have gone on to sign 2025 Player of the Season, Walter Musona and his second runner-up Lynoth Chikuhwa.

Chikuhwa was being targeted by Magesi FC. However, Scottland appears to have won the race for his services.

Billiat still has what it takes to shine on the elite stage and was the most-loved player in the league after winning the PSL Fans Choice Award.
