Given Msimango speaks on how it feels seeing arch-rivals thrive
Given Msimango has opened up on how it feels seeing their arch-rivals thrive while Kaizer Chiefs continue singing the blues in the PSL. Chiefs are now close to a decade without winning any major silverware.
Efforts to arrest that undesirable run have hit a brick wall as all the previous coaches have failed to bring back the team’s glamour. Current coach Nasreddine Nabi has been working hard to reclaim the winning mentality as they bid to get back to glory days and win their first piece of silverware since 2015.
What piles more pressure on the Amakhosi faithful is how Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have been thriving.
This season, Sundowns and Pirates have shown serious intentions to win the league crown, as the latter are riding high with the MTN8 Cup title.
WHAT GIVEN MSIMANGO SAID AS KAIZER CHIEFS CONTINUE SINGING THE BLUES
And defender, Msimango has opened up on how it feels seeing their rivals win big in the PSL.
“It does pain us as players to see that we are not doing as well as we should be and competing at the level we should be competing.
“But, in the end, it boils down to how professional you see it as a player. You don’t involve feelings when you talk about football. It’s always about facts.
“The fact is we are not performing well at the moment. And it’s a fact that we are trying to change.
“And as for how other teams are doing, kudos to them, kudos to Sundowns. They have been doing this for years and right now Pirates are doing well.
“It shows that they trust the process and the leadership in charge. They support the coaches and players fully.
“For us, the focus is on the Kaizer Chiefs brand and focusing on our own shortcomings. By God’s grace it will be different,” he said.
