Latest on Chiefs loanee Radebe’s future at Richards Bay
Richards Bay FC have recently terminated the contracts of two players who were on loan with them. Now, here’s the latest update on Sabelo Radebe, who is also on loan at the club from Kaizer Chiefs.
The Natal Rich Boyz have released Thabang Sibanyoni and Thando Buthelezi, who were on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. The duo will not be rejoining the club for the remainder of the season.
Attacking midfielder Buthelezi, who struggled to secure consistent playing time, made only four appearances across all competitions since joining the club at the beginning of the season.
Meanwhile, the reasons for Sibanyoni’s departure from the club remain unclear having made some appearances in a few matches, particularly under former coach Brandon Truter at the beginning of the season.
The forward featured in nine matches across all competitions without finding the back of the net.
RADEBE HAS PLAYED ONLY 11 MINUTES SINCE JOINING RICHARDS BAY
Now, Radebe made the switch down to the Zululand on the last day of the transfer window, penning a season-long loan deal with the Natal Rich Boyz.
His only appearance this season came in the Betway Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns, where he was introduced as a late substitute and played for 11 minutes.
Insiders suggest that ‘Bibo’ will remain at the Natal Rich Boyz for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Meanwhile, speaking on Radebe’s future after the Sundowns match in the Betway Premiership, the club’s interim coach Ronnie Gabriel expressed hope that Radebe would receive more playing time in the future.
“As yet, we haven’t gone through dynamics of that but today [Saturday] you saw Sabelo, we managed to get him into the pitch in the second half,” said Gabriel.
“He broke his way into the 20 and had some game time today. Hopefully, he can push on from here, work harder and maybe get a starting berth going forward.”
