Chiefs join forces with Stanton Fredericks Sports Group
In a move designed to elevate their performance on the field, Mochudi Centre Chiefs have joined forces with the Stanton Fredericks Sports Group [SFSG].
The partnership deal was signed on 7 January, and it aims to leverage SFSG’s expertise in sports management and development to propel Chiefs SC towards new heights.
In a statement released on Thursday, Chiefs stated that the partnership with the Sports Group of the Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs icon Stanton Fredericks is founded on shared values and a collective vision to advance the sport of football within Botswana.
According to the club, Fredericks’s Sports Group also brings a wealth of experience in various aspects of sports management, including player development, administrative operations, and facility management.
Chiefs added that they will share more details of the partnership in a press conference, although the date of the media briefing was not specified.
Stanton Fredericks is a revered figure in SA football. His illustrious playing career also saw him don the jersey of Orlando Pirates. Furthermore, Fredericks’s talent extended beyond African shores, as he enjoyed stints abroad.
He showcased his skills in Switzerland with Grasshoppers, graced the Greek Super League with Pierikos, and even tested his mettle in the Russian Premier League with FC Moscow.
After retiring in 2013, Fredericks ventured into business, and he is also a Football Analyst for SuperSport TV.
CHIEFS PARTNER WITH STANTON FREDERICKS SPORTS GROUP FOR ENHANCED GROWTH
“Mochudi Centre Chiefs is excited to inform its supporters and well-wishers that we have entered into an agreement to partner with one of the renowned and experienced entities in the sporting space, Stanton Fredericks Sports Group, effective 7 January 2025,” reads the club statement.
“This partnership is built on shared values and a common goal of advancing the sport of football. The SFSG brings vast football experience and administrative and management skills, which will go a long way in helping Mochudi Centre Chiefs Sporting Club (MCCSC) realise its goals.
“The partnership is expected to bring significant improvements in our training facilities, player development programmes, and overall performance on the field.”
Chiefs are a professional team based in Mochudi, Botswana. They compete in the country’s Premier League.
The club has a South African in their ranks, central midfielder Cebo Meyiwa, who previously played for teams such as SuperSport United, the now-defunct Mpumalanga Black Aces, and Uthongathi FC.
